Pete and Sarah climb Mount Kilimanjaro

My Story

Two bad weeks.  One suspiciously timed screen saver.  Questionable Decision-Making.

After years of surviving winter pressures, delivering “efficiency savings”, firefighting operational chaos, and sitting through meetings that absolutely could have been emails… we’ve decided to tackle our biggest challenge yet.

No — not finishing the COAST building.

We’re climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Yes, this October we’ll be hauling ourselves 5,895 metres above sea level up the tallest mountain in Africa — entirely voluntarily — to raise money for our Hospital Charity.

We’ll be trekking for hours each day through heat, cold, exhaustion, altitude sickness, and the growing realisation that this seemed like a much better idea in the pub.

So why are we doing it?

Because somehow it still feels easier than another regulatory performance meeting!

But mainly because every day we see the incredible difference our Hospital Charity makes for patients, families, and staff — funding the extras that make hospitals feel more human during life’s toughest moments.

We’re paying for the trip ourselves, so every penny donated goes directly towards improving patient care, supporting staff wellbeing, and funding projects that genuinely change lives across our hospitals.

Also, the more money we raise, the less socially acceptable it becomes for us to back out.

Please donate if you can — and help turn our determination, poor judgement, and Pete’s very visible midlife crisis into something genuinely worthwhile.

Thanks in advance!!
